Youths from throughout Maui County had the privilege of attending the Global Youth Leadership Summit July 19-25. This prestigious international conference is hosted by the Anthony Robbins Foundation and is held at University of California San Diego campus. The group is part of the Hawaii Leaders Core (HLC) whose mission is to “empower youth for a brighter tomorrow.”

Have you ever stumbled upon something so life-changing that you had to share it with everyone you know?
That’s what happened to Alexander Muto five years ago. The then-16-year-old flew to San Diego with a friend to attend the Tony Robbins Global Youth Leadership Summit, a four-day leadership development program for youths ages 14 to 17.
There, the two teens, along with more than 300 students from 27 countries, absorbed the empowering messages of the summit’s keynote speakers (including Robbins himself) and took part in discussions, games and exercises designed to help them identify their individual strengths, set personal goals and make a commitment to community service.

WHILE MANY first-years enter college expecting accomplishment and success, Hawaii native, Alexander Muto, already holds a few notches in his belt. He’s the CEO of his own non-profit, a contributing author in a bestselling book on Amazon, and has spoken about his experiences internationally. All of that, before the age of eighteen.

WEST MAUI – For the past five years, the Ignite A Life (IAI) nonprofit dba Hawaii Leaders Core (HLC) has been opening doors for the youth of our island community, sponsoring attendance at various renowned youth leadership summits across the globe, including San Diego, United Kingdom and Australia
Their success rate with the students of the HLC has been stellar, so practiced, that the beneficial organization is hosting the first-ever Alaka’i Youth Leadership Academy (AYLA) this summer on June 18-24 at the Maui Beach Hotel.
